Starting The Effort

The open and loose phase. Working with pen and paper to find solutions to the problem, or answers to the questions being asked. Common tools here are brainstorm sessions, mind mapping, prototyping, testing similar items and more. This is the top of the funnel of creativity. No ideas are wrong or bad. As this phase ends we push to establish clear goals and timelines and enter the execution phase. Tightening the scope to the best and clearest vision.

Down To Business

Shifting to getting things done, major tools here are the CAD or design software suites. Illustrator, photoshop for 2D and layout tools, or creating 3D files or renderings in Rhino and Keyshot. This is starting to truly lock down the nitty gritty of the project and make sure we have a robust final product.

There will be a fully featured and considered deliverable after the execution phase which will set up a meeting with any stakeholders to ensure the vision is correct.

Finish The Fight

The final phase is the resolution. Handing off a fully considered and refined final deliverable. Everything has been explored and refined. A time when it takes a clear directive to say “we have gone as far as we can, let this see the light of day” we have pushed past any remaining roadblocks and have our final product available. End this phase with was we agreed on in the ideation time.
